Lessons Learned

A large Natural Gas and power generation company in Alberta employs Tricon to perform project look-backs on major IT and construction projects to help feed lessons learned and continuous improvement activities back into their project planning and delivery methodology.

PMO Implementation

At the PMO’s inception, Tricon leveraged its internal knowledge base and content repository called “Triple Play” to rapidly implement good practice processes, management reporting, workflow and delivery templates, allowing for a more rapid PMO implementation. Tricon has continued to evolve processes and practices over a multi-year service agreement in line with changing company culture and direction, and has grown as a strategic partner to the IT department, helping the organization effectively deliver its large capital spend programs year over year.

Methodology Services in Action

A large Canadian company hired Tricon to perform quarterly updates and training of its PMO Methodology.  Tricon also acts as a “service desk”, so that company workers phone an internal number, which is answered by a Tricon professional, to help trouble-shoot methodology questions on a demand basis. 

Project delivery insights

Independent Assurance CIO of a natural gas company hired Tricon to help provide greater independent insight into its project delivery activities, and to establish more effective risk management and reporting practices within its PMO.  Tricon built and enabled initial dashboard reporting for the client, and helped the client get new risk management processes up and running.
